2 public exhibitions this week will outline a plan for a renewable energy centre in Washington.
Starting today, the public are being asked to come along to the Washington Millennium Centre and on Saturday to the Washington Leisure Centre.
It’s to give feedback to a proposal for a site at Hillthorn Farm at the Enterprize Zone near Vantec, which developers Rolten Kilbride say will power up to 45 thousand homes on Wearside.

The Developers say the technology has been used successfully for decades in Japan.
Using waste material to create electricity, it’s hoped that it will be completed in four to five years time.
