The Oklahoma City Thunder had a strong start and a strong finish to the NBA offseason and the outlook on the 2017-18 was abuzz on Media Day.
Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti played a big role in putting together a quality roster for the organization this offseason. Now, there’s a lot of hype surrounding the addition of former Indiana Pacers forward Paul George and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. Their additions give Westbrook an All-Star lineup to rely on offensively in the competitive Western Conference.
Russell Westbrook may not have to rewrite history this season with more triple-doubles to get his team over the hump in 2017-18. This season he’s got some help, and the signings of point guard Raymond Felton and forward Patrick Patterson don’t seem bad at all.
There was a newfound buzz at the Thunder’s Media Day. The addition of two top-20 talents alongside Westbrook is sure to make a splash in the West. The biggest focus going in is on winning and nobody was more outspoken about that sentiment than Paul George.
To make things even sweeter, OKC’s first game of the season is against the New York Knicks on Oct. 19 in Oklahoma City. Their fourth game of the season, they host the Pacers on Oct. 25.
Here are five takeaways from the team’s Media Day.
