The Ministry of Defence has issued a call for soldiers to enlist in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces to fill its ranks in Stung Treng, Mondulkiri and Ratanakkiri provinces.
The recruitment letter, issued on Wednesday, did not state how many new troops will be enlisted, but said soldiers are needed in those provinces.
“Candidates for the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces must be Khmer citizens aged 18 to 30 at the time of application,” the letter said. “They must be physically fit and not guilty of any criminal offence. They must also have the ability of writing and reading the Khmer language and a height of 1.60 metres and up.”
The letter added the recruitment drive will run from October 1 to 31, and that candidates can apply at any local RCAF office.The government has approved a budget of $844 million for national defence, security and public order in 2017.
