A Bath dental practice is to close due to recruitment “difficulties” and “ongoing running costs.”
Some patients’ treatments will be moved to a surgery 1.2 miles away once the mydentist on Rush Hill shuts its doors.
A letter was distributed to people in and around the Bath area over the last week.
It reads: “We are writing to you to let you know that mydentist, Rush Hill is proposed to close on 30 September 2017. This is a result of difficulties in recruiting dentists and ongoing running costs that have prevented the practice from operating sustainably.
“It is anticipated that all open courses of treatment will be completed by 30 September 2017 and we will be contacting you shortly to arrange appointments. Should any courses of treatment not be completed by this date then treatment will be transferred to Walywyn Close in Twerton, BA2 1ER, approximately 1.2 miles away.
“Patients who have a private treatment or hygiene plan will be contacted separately to discuss their options.”
Other NHS dentists are available for patients to choose to which the letter continues: “NHS England will endeavor to make arrangements to procure a new NHS dentist in the area and local residents will be advised should a new provider be appointed.
“Once again we are sorry that we have chosen to consider this as an option and we thank you for supporting the practice over the years.”
