Bhopal: Poor response from youths in MP to join forces, says Air Vice Marshal

Bhopal: Air Vice Marshal (AVM) OP Tiwari, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Personnel Airmen and Civilians) expressed disappointment over the low turnout of youths at the recruitment rally in Madhya Pradesh as compared to response such drives get in others states.

The Air Vice Marshal stressed on the need to focus more on rural pockets of the state. In all 402 candidates have been selected through the job rally for final medical test to be held in January next year. The recruitment drive was conducted by Air Force on August 27 and August 30.

Interacting with media on Friday next day of completion of recruitment rally, AVM Tiwari said, “In other states, youths throng when they read about recruitment drive of forces. Even in Chhattisgarh, we got tremendous response.” In reply to volley of questions about reason behind poor response from youths in MP, Tiwari said, “We need to focus more on rural pockets of the state. We have started working on it.”

Denying to making any comment on “non-cooperation” from State Government in the recently concluded recruitment rally, Tiwari said, “It is not our job to comment on  State Government. Our job is to conduct recruitment rally. Lacuna exists everywhere.” He said, “Just to attract youths, we rope in celebrities like legendry cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador for forces. There is need to motivate and inspire the youths to join defense.”

We burnt mid night oil for job rally but state govt disappointed us

Wing commander Imran Khan said, “It is very pathetic that state government did not cooperate at all with Air Force in conducting recruitment drive. Our men burnt midnight oil in completing the rally. As per directives of department of home, state government was to sanction Rs 20 lakh for the entire rally but at the eleventh hour, it released only Rs 5 lakh. Secondly, there was no arrangement for law and order as boys of 30 districts had arrived in Bhopal. Even there no was arrangement of water proof tent despite assurance of employment minister Rajendra Shukla, Chief Secretary and PS employment and other top bosses. I appreciate our jawans and other officials who work hard till late mid night for the success of rally.”
