When he initially committed it was described as his dream school, but now class of 2018 big man Taylor Currie is no longer headed to Michigan. Initially a member of the 2019 class, Currie moved into 2018 following the summer, but no longer is that going to work for Currie and Michigan.
On Friday morning Currie and John Beilein spoke, and the decision was made to re-open his recruitment.
This immediately makes Currie one of the top unsigned bigs in the Midwest. An above-average athlete with skill both inside and on the perimeter, Currie is young and has upside down the road. He also brings a sense of toughness, and a solid ability to move his feet on the defensive end.
Look for Currie to have plenty of high-major interest, and for him to move quickly in the recruiting process as he still intends to be in 2018 and could possibly sign a letter of intent in the fall.
