Bluewater shopping centre on recruitment surge with over 2,000 jobs on offer

Do you fancy working at one of the busiest shopping centres in the UK? Then read on.

Bluewater Shopping Centre, in Kent, has over 2,000 new roles on offer at retail giants like John Lewis and House of Fraser.

Positions range from management roles to retail workers so there are plenty of offers for you to take your pick from.

The shopping centre is partnering with its on-site recruitment and training facility, The Learning Shop, to run its sixth consecutive job fair.

According to a Kent Live report, the event will take place over two days for the first time.

On Thursday (September 14) 300 jobs across leisure and hospitality were offered and on Friday (September 15) a further 1,800 positions in retail will be showcased.

A huge variety of roles are available this year, including management positions at more than 60 of Bluewater’s leading retailers and restaurants.

Vacancies will be advertised by JD Sports, John Lewis, House of Fraser , Neal’s Yard Remedies, Giraffe, Godiva and more.

Since its foundation, the Bluewater Jobs Fair has helped match 7,050 suitable candidates to vacancies at Bluewater.

In total, The Learning Shop and Bluewater partnership, which began 18 years ago, has brokered employment for over 46,000 people and has trained in excess of 22,000 people.

MP for Dartford, Gareth Johnson and Mayor of Dartford, Rosanna Currans will be visiting the event on Friday alongside Bluewater’s General Manager, Robert Goodman and Howard Noble, Customer Service Leader, Kent Department for Work and Pensions.

Mr Johnson said: “The Fair is a key employment initiative in matching hopeful candidates with positions at Bluewater, and each year the event goes from strength to strength.

“The variety of jobs available continues to grow, which creates an even more diverse range of opportunities for local people.

“The number of people who have benefited since the Fair’s inception is a testament to the great work by the team at The Learning Shop and Bluewater. I would like to wish all the hopeful candidates the very best of luck when applying for positions.”
