Britain to enjoy mini-heatwave as temperatures set to beat August high

Britain will enjoy a mini-heatwave next week as temperatures reach their highest levels since the start of this month.

Tropical air from Hurricane Gert and an area of low pressure mean that the south of England and East Anglia could see temperatures stretch into the high 20s, the Met Office said.

While it is set to be warm, it won’t be too sunny – conditions are instead inspected to be humid and cloudy.

A spokesman said: “Monday and Tuesday will see a lot of warm and humid areas, with temperatures of around 23 to 25 degrees.
