NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP / BRISTOL TOWNSHIP — Bucks County Community College is holding its first Women’s Summit On Entrepreneurship Thursday and Friday.

The event is open to the public. It starts with a pre-summit reception 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in room 142 of Tyler Hall at the BCCC Newtown Township campus, 275 Swamp Road. The summit’s keynote speaker, Dianne Welsh, will be there, and the $40 ticket price includes wine, cheese and light refreshments.

The summit continues 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the BCCC Lower Bucks County campus, 1304 Veterans Highway in Bristol Township. Breakfast and lunch are included in the ticket price of $50 for the general public and $35 for BCCC alumni. Special pricing is available for those who purchase tickets for both Thursday and Friday.

Those attending Friday will move from workshop to workshop throughout the day, selecting from two different tracks of presentations — Street Smart for aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up companies, and Scale Up for business owners.

Welsh is the Hayes Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and founding director of the university’s cross disciplinary entrepreneurship program. She is a globally known and frequently published scholar in international franchising, family business and entrepreneurship, BCCC officials said.
