Businessman’s warning after cruel banking scam | Meridian

A businessman from Sussex is warning others to beware of banking fraud after he was tricked out of more than £30,000.

Phillip Moore from Seaford received a phone call telling him to transfer his savings to another account urgently, to prevent the money being stolen.

The call appeared to come from Mr Moore’s own bank, but it was a scam.

NatWest have now managed to recover most of the money – but as Malcolm Shaw reports, the thieves were convincing and very believable.
