EL RENO — For the seventh consecutive year and 15th time in history, Canadian Valley Technology Center has been recognized as a Gold Star School by the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers.
It is the highest honor bestowed on a technology center and is awarded every year, according to a news release. Gold Star criteria includes demonstrated excellence in completion rate, placement rate and capacity.
An award presentation was made during the annual CareerTech summer conference in Oklahoma City. CV Tech’s three teachers of the year, representing each of the three campuses, were honored on stage during the trophy presentation.
Also at the conference, CV Tech’s Gay Pettit, career support counselor, received the career guidance award.
CV Tech is a publicly funded school established in 1970 that provides full-time and short-term training for high school and adult students. Affordable customized training is provided for businesses and industries. Canadian Valley also has been named a top workplace in Oklahoma four consecutive years.
