College football rankings: USC and Virginia Tech drop, UCF and Washington State make biggest jumps | NCAA Football

To no surprise, Alabama occupies the top spot for yet another week in college football rankings after a 66-3 win against Mississippi State. The Coaches Poll and AP Poll had the same top-4 teams from Week 5 to Week 6 with: Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Penn State.

In the Coaches Poll, USC lost their first game of the season to Washington State and fell 10 spots. Meanwhile, Notre Dame, NC State and UCF worked their way on to the list. After a disappointing nonconference loss against Troy, LSU also fell out of the rankings this week. Georgia moved up after shutting down Tennessee.

In the AP Poll, the biggest news was Clemson earning 17 first-place votes after beating Virginia Tech. Last week, the Tigers only had 8 votes. UCF made the biggest jump coming in at No. 25 this week. Penn State keeps the No. 4 spot after a convincing win against Indiana. Mississippi State and Florida State are both out of the top 25.
