Mind provide support to adults experiencing mental ill health in Ryedale and across North Yorkshire and cover a geographical area of 1,000 square miles and a population of over 160,000.
Sophie Hall, CEO of Mind (Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale) says:
We are the only mental health charity providing one-to-one community outreach services in the region.
Mental health issues can affect anyone at any age, of any sex, or race and we hope we can find the extra volunteers we desperately need to continue offering support services across North Yorkshire.
If we cannot continue our outreach programme, people in this large rural community, will no longer have access to support and we don’t think this a good situation for anyone”
