Supporter promised to run on the pitch in the 69th minute and he duly delivered before being carried out of the ground
AN England fan carried out a social media led pitch invasion during England’s clash with Malta on Friday.
The Three Lions follower said on Twitter he would invade the pitch if he received 400 retweets.
He also posted a picture from his seat during the first half on social media.
Upon reaching the 400 mark for retweets, the supporter promised a 69th-minute invasion.
And he stayed true to his word, too, as he brought the game to a halt when he came onto the field and was chased by stewards.
The supporter than ran over to Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford and gave him a hug before darting away from the stewards.
Entering the field of play is an offence in the UK, and the daft fan now faces a ban from England games.
England beat Malta 4-0 in their World Cup qualifier thanks to three late goals.
In a drab affair, it took England 53 minutes to break the deadlock through Harry Kane.
Ryan Bertrand then guaranteed three points for Gareth Southgate’s side before Danny Welbeck and Kane handed the Three Lions a convincing win.
England face second place Slovakia on Monday and will move five points ahead of their rivals with a win.
