Four-star offensive lineman William Barnes (Apopka, Fla./Apopka) is getting to the part of his recruitment where official visits are being determined. The 6-foot-4, 312-pound prospect said on vsporto’s SEC Recruiting Buzz that three programs are in great shape to land one of those five coveted trips.
“I know for a fact that UNC, Florida, Florida State are most likely getting officials,” Barnes said.
Barnes said Ole Miss and Clemson are in contention to host him for an official as well. Georgia is also in the mix with the U.S. Army All-American.
“I communicate with Coach Pittman a little bit,” Barnes said. “I plan on maybe taking an unofficial up there again, or maybe an official. Not sure yet. Still thinking about it.”
These visits could prove pivotal to landing a commitment from Barnes, possibly by the time he leaves one lucky program’s campus.
“Most likely signing day, or if an official visit goes well and it is the school I like the most, an early commitment maybe,” Barnes said.
Check out the full interview below, which includes Barnes discussing other programs and a breakdown of him as a player and where he might end up.
