The Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus will offer free GED placement screenings for individuals 16-24 years old who have officially withdrawn from high school and are either underemployed or unemployed.
The assessment screenings, which do not require pre-registration, will be offered in
Building 200 of the Terry Campus, 100 Campus Drive, Dover. Screenings will take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and 24.
Future Leaders of Business-Out of School Youth is offered at no cost through a partnership with
the state’s Department of Labor Workforce Development Board, and participating students will
have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills and enhance marketability and
competitiveness in the workplace through job skills training.
The assessment will last more than three hours. Future Leaders of Business participants will obtain a GED and earn industry-recognized certificates, participate in employability life skills training and leadership development opportunities, take financial literacy workshops and complete up to 262 hours of on-the-job training through paid work experience and internships. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be workforce ready and prepared to continue their post-secondary education.
