Edmonton attack: Man ploughs car into pedestrians in Canada before stabbing officer

A MANHUNT is under way for a suspect who reportedly ploughed into pedestrians before stabbing a police officer in Canada.

Officers said the policeman was on duty at a Edmonton Eskimos game before a car rammed into a police vehicle.

Reports suggest the car ploughed into pedestrians before the collision.

The suspect then got out of the car and stabbed the police officer.

A police spokesman said: “The officer was approached by an unknown male suspect in a vehicle at which time the suspect rammed the police cruiser.

“The suspect then got out of the vehicle and approached the officer and an altercation ensued. The officer sustained some injuries. Thankfully he’s doing OK. A suspect continues to be at large.”

CTV News in Canada reported that cameras appeared to show an ISIS flag inside the vehicle, however this has not been confirmed by the police.
