HYDERABAD: Niti Aayog, in collaboration with INK, a body offering a platform for exchange of ideas and inspiring stories, on Saturday concluded its first programme, INK Salon, as part of the `Road to Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017′, at THub in Hyderabad.
Students from NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, BITS Hyderabad, Manipal University and Lovely Professional University showcased their innovations, which were judged by a panel. Electro Foodi es, a team from Manipal University that showcased a pani-puri dispensing machine, bagged the first prize.
GES2017 will take place in Hyderabad during November 28-30. As part of the `Road to GES2017′, Niti Aayog is conducting a series of programmes in the country to foster the spirit of innova tion and entrepreneurship among youth.
Niti Aayog advisor Anna Roy said, “Events will be conducted to spread awareness about GES as well as the importance of entrepreneurship. We also want to showcase innovations that are taking place in the country. These events will be organised in various cities including Lucknow, Bangalore and Mumbai, among others. The details are being worked out and will be put out shortly on the website. We will hold programmes like hackathons and also reach out to tier-2 centres.”
Roy said Niti Aayog was planning a series of programmes in Hyderabad as a `run-up’ to the event, on November 26 and 27, adding that they’re open to partnerships.
Ivanka Trump, advisor to US President Donald Trump and his daughter, will be leading the US delegation to the summit which will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally, themed `Women First, Prosperity for All’.
