Long Beach Poly (Calif.) lost a tough one to Mission Viejo (Calif.) over the weekend but standout receiver Jalen Hall still showed why he’s such a coveted recruit.
Hall had a fun one on one battle with Diablo standout corner Olaijah Griffin as well as Mission’s other talented corner Chris Mitchell. Hall finished the night with six catches for 125 yards and used his length, hands and body control to make several big plays in the game.
On the recruiting front, Hall hasn’t set up any of his official visits yet but is planning to take several unofficial trips over the coming months.
“Right now, I’m just trying to find the best fit for me,” Hall said. “The best fit for someone else might not be the best fit for me. I know a lot of people assume I’ll be at USC because my boys (Greg Johnson/Joseph Lewis) are down there. They’ve been talking to me since the 8th grade and I do have interest but I have to find the best place for me and I have no idea where that is right now.
“I don’t have any official visit dates with anyone but I plan to visit LSU for the Auburn game and I want to get to Nebraska, UCLA and Florida for games as well, those will all be unofficial trips. Those schools along with Ohio State and USC are the ones recruiting me the hardest right now but there are a lot of them, I know I’m forgetting some but I know I need to narrow it down soon here.”
Hall said location won’t play a role in his decision.
“Wherever I go, that will be home for me,” Hall said. “If it’s best for me to stay closer to home, I’ll stay, if it’s better for me leave home, I’ll leave. Either way it will be an adjustment but it’s something I know I can handle.
“Right now I’m on track to graduate early and if I do, I’ll make my decision sometime in December. If I don’t graduate early, I’ll decide in January so the trips will be good for me to see where I fit in best.”
