ATLANTA – The old Turner Field is transforming into Georgia State’s new stadium, and the Panthers are excited to kick off the 2017 football season.
We’re learning new details about the new construction phase for the stadium, on Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m.
The Panthers will play their first game in the new stadium on Aug. 31 against Tennessee.
Channel 2’s Audrey Washington says construction crews have put in a lot of work to make the former Turner Field into GSU’s own.
Panthers new head coach Shawn Elliot says crews have been working hard on the transformation, which includes new signage, new seats, new bleachers and new turf.
Elliot says the goal of the stadium is to wow the fans.
