ALBANY, NY (WRGB)–Gov. Cuomo announced Tuesday the City of Albany will receive $1.4 million in funding for three new energy saving projects.
The projects are expected to reduce the city’s greenhouse gas by 773 tons a year, and will save the city $240,000 in annual energy costs.
It’s all part of Gov. Cuomo’s “Five Cities Energy Plan.”
Some of the ways Albany proposes to combat climate change include monitoring energy use in municipal buildings, and adding 100 electric cars to the Albany city fleet.
