A Med City technology firm, Trbhi, recently was ranked in the top 500 of Inc. magazine’s annual list of 5,000 rising stars in the business world.
Two other Rochester companies, Atlas Insurance Brokers and Corporate Web Services, also made the list at No. 2,597 and No. 4,407, respectively. It’s the second year in a row for CWS to make the list.
Trbhi, the highest ranked of the three, is pronounced “Tree-bee.” It is a Sanskrit word that translates to “star” or “light.”
CEO Karthi Narayanaswami says having his young company ranked at No. 466 makes him “particularly happy.”
Trbhi, based in the Mayo Clinic Business Accelerator in downtown Rochester, was founded in 2012. The magazine ranking shows Trbhi with $2.9 million in revenue for 2016 and a whopping three-year growth of 948 percent.
Narayanaswami credits his company’s growth to happy clients coming back to them with more contracts and referring other businesses to them.
“Reputation matters,” he said.
The technology firm offers a wide variety of services for large companies. Trbhi helps companies upgrade and transition old “legacy” computer systems as well as designing custom-made software and mobile applications.
While it works with companies in many industries, Trbhi has built up most of its expertise in health care. That’s the primary reason the firm is based in Rochester.
Their service goes beyond just setting up a system. Trbhi also stations a staffer at the client’s business for ongoing maintenance and service.
Narayanaswami has five full-time employees on staff and a total team of 15 specialists that he can mobilize for a contract.
Trbhi is gearing up for a new endeavor in early 2018. Narayanaswami and his team are creating a new mobile application for use in emergency rooms. This will be Trbhi’s first time taking a product to market.
