Hingoli & Nagpur police arrest three members of fake currency racket

Joint team of Hingoli Police and City Police arrested three members of a fake currency racket at Gittikhadan area and seized fake currency with face value of Rs 6,000 and electronic equipment including scanner, printing machine and computers. The raid was conducted after the Hingoli police had arrested fake currency with face value of Rs 90,000 from three persons at Hingoli.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Hingoli, Arvind Chawria informed The Hitavada that the Hingoli police had busted the racket at the Hingoli city when a car arrived in the city to circulate fake currency.
“We got a tip-off about the racket circulating fake currency in the district. Acting on the specific tip-off, we had enforced nakabandi on city roads and a suspicious car was detained on Thursday night and fake currency with face value of Rs 90,000 were recovered,” he said.
Three persons were arrested by the Hingoli police from the car. During interrogation, the Hingoli police discovered the Nagpur connection of the racket. The accused revealed the names of other three accused living in the Nagpur who had printed the notes using digital scanner and printers.
The team of Hingoli Police arrived in the Napgur and conducted raid at Mobile Planet Shop in Awasthi Nagar in Gittikhadan area on Thursday night. The joint team have seized fake currency with face value of Rs 6,000 including two notes of Rs 2,000 and four notes of Rs 500.
The Crime Branch team had arrested three accused identified as — Mohd Irjak Mohd Yusuf (30), a resident of Plot No. 20, New Gandhi lay-out; Mohd Jisan Mohd Nisar (22), a resident of Plot No. 1, Rohini Housing Society; Abdul Rajiq Abdul Jabbar (40), a resident of Plot No. 20, New Gandhi lay-out. The police have also seized fake Aadhar card from the accused.
A senior police officer informed that the accused were running the fake currency business since many months and they had circulated lakhs of fake currency in the state. The Crime Branch of Napgur Police have registered an offence against the three accused arrested under Sections 420, 489 (A) (B) (C) (D) (E), 465, 468, 471, 120 (B) of Indian Penal Code. The arrest was made under the guidance of DCP (Detection) Sambhaji Kadam and ACP Somnath Waghchoure.
