Bitcoin is an online digital currency that is not privately owned.

As a part of the Nexus IT informational meetings, Commerce members and the public were able to come and find out how Bitcoin could be useful to them.

It can help businesses that do oversees transactions, and it could also be useful for any monetary exchanges.

“Being able to have this type of programmable, digital money that can be instantly transacted in the world could really change the whole world in profound ways,” explained Bitcoin investor Stephen Cole.

The next informational meeting will continue on August 16th at the Joplin Chamber of Commerce during the lunch hour.
