Maggie L. Robinson Magazine, 97, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at her home.

Born on Dec. 28, 1919, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Amy Robinson. She attended the public schools of Sumter County. She worked for several businesses in the Sumter area before retiring from Campbell Soup Co. Early in life, she joined Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member until the end. She was a devoted wife to the late James “Buck” Magazine Sr.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: seven sons, James (Emma) Magazine, Marion Magazine, William (Lillie) Magazine, Lucius (Viola) Magazine, John Magazine and Robert (Luella) Magazine, all of Sumter, and Ernest (Royann) of Timmonsville; three daughters, Marie (James) Brisbon of Camden and Minnie Frierson and Frances Grant, both of Sumter; one grandson, Willie White Jr. of Columbia; a niece, Willie Mae (Willie) Washington of Sumter, who was reared in the home; a stepdaughter, Mary (Frank) Brisbon of Santee; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Annie H. Sistrunk, pastor, eulogist.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at her home, 101 Agnes St., Sumter.

The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church cemetery.

These services have been entrusted to the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
