New £6m care home is recruiting again as 100 jobs created

Jobs are up for grabs at a £6m care home set to open in Beverley this month.

Beverley Parklands Care Home, which is creating 100 jobs, received almost 300 applications during its first phase of recruitment.

Now, senior care assistants and care assistants are the next to be recruited for the 78-bed home, which will have facilities including a bar, cinema and shops.

It comes as an open weekend is planned for September 22-24 for prospective residents of the new home, which is due to open on September 25.

Award-winning Brantingham based Yorkare Homes, who operate Westfield Park, Goole and Magdalen Park, Hedon, are preparing to open on the 1.4-acre site at Beverley Parklands, where finishing touches are now being applied to the new home.

Laurence Garton, development director, said: “We are extremely happy with how Beverley Parklands is progressing, we have taken the designs from our last two award winning projects and implemented these, along with some new ideas, here.

“We won the healthcare design awards due to the facilities our homes provide and the ‘dementia friendly’ design.”

Facilities at Beverley Parklands will include two street scenes with an in-house bar, shop, cinema, tea room and hair & beauty spa, as well as fake shop fronts.

The site has two large formal gardens, with an artificial bowls green, to the rear of the property.

There are terraces on all floors, including a covered roof garden on the second floor.

Prices are from £700 at the home, where all the bedrooms are large with full ensuites, with ground floor bedrooms having private patios.

There is also a range of premium suites designed for couples.

The September 22-24 open days are for anyone to attend from 10am to 4pm, when people will be shown around in groups.

Yorkare Homes won two Pinder Healthcare Design Awards for the Best New Care Home in the UK for 2015 and 2017.

They also became the first private care home provider in East Yorkshire to receive an outstanding rating from CQC, for Magdalen Park, with less than one per cent achieving the accolade nationally.
