ODU men picked 7th in preseason Conference USA soccer poll | Old Dominion University

Old Dominion junior midfielder Niko Klosterhalfen was named to the preseason All-Conference USA men’s soccer team Friday.

Klosterhalfen, who is from Germany, was a third-team all-conference pick in 2016 and the 2015 Freshman of the Year.

ODU (6-9-2 last season), was picked to finish seventh in the league . The Monarchs, who open Aug. 25 at home against Appalachian State, will host the league tournament in November.

Charlotte, led by goalkeeper Elliot Panicco, the preseason Defensive Player of the Year, was picked to win the conference, with New Mexico and Florida International second and third.
