The city of Powder Springs, in conjunction with the Downtown Development Authority, will host an open house on Oct. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 4488 Pineview Drive in downtown Powder Springs.
The city and DDA are seeking a brewery and restaurant to anchor the new downtown activity center that will be breaking ground next year.
The DDA has organized this event to showcase some of their potential properties for lease and private properties that are available. The DDA will unveil their new “Anchor Incentive Package” that includes one year of free rent and a renovation grant.
The new downtown activity center will include a downtown trailhead that will provide parking, restrooms, water fountains, bike racks and a bike maintenance station for pedestrians and cyclists. In addition to a trailhead, the activity center will have an interactive water feature, a new amphitheater and updated hardscape, landscape and streetscapes. To complement the new downtown activity center and increase foot traffic in the downtown, the DDA has purchased several properties for development to include a townhome or condo project and several redevelopment commercial properties in the historic area.
