Owners of the Outlets of Des Moines plan to trickle out announcements next week about the center’s newest tenants to build excitement before the Altoona mall’s opening in October.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, New England Development of Boston will post on social media a handful stores opening in the center. Some of the stores will be those previously announced, while others may be new, the company said. The announcements will continue each day through Aug. 25.
In addition, shoppers will be given a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree.
In all, the Register has learned about 30 retailers coming to the 300,000-square-foot outlet mall which sits south of Bass Pro Shops along Interstate Highway 80 and Iowa Highway 65 in a commercial and retail development called The Shoppes at Prairie Crossing. The mall is set to open Oct. 20.
Some of the outlet stores include Le Creuset, Rack Room Shoes, Vera Bradley, francesca’s, Lids, Levi’s Outlet Store, Zales Outlet, Converse, Asics, GNC and Yankee Candle, none of which are now in Tanger Outlets in Williamsburg.
Additional retailers, which also have stores at the Williamsburg outlet, include: Lane Bryant Outlet, Loft Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger, maurices, Nike Factory Store, Skechers, Famous Footwear, Under Armour, Carter’s babies and kids, OshKosh B’gosh, VF Outlet, Kay Jewelers Outlet, Fragrance Outlet, Bath and Body Works, Express Factory Outlet, Old Navy, Nike Factory Store, Gap and Brooks Bros. Factory Store.
New England Development officials have said there will be about 70 tenants when the shopping center is fully leased. Some will open in 2018.
