The Federal Government is continuing its wheeling and dealing behind the scenes on a shake-up of Australia’s media laws, after One Nation’s support for the plan was scuppered by Labor, the Greens and NXT.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has weighed in on a Melbourne council’s decision to stop referring to January 26 as Australia Day, saying he is “deeply disappointed”.
