“I have been in customer service and sales my whole life,” Seaman said. “I enjoy meeting people and we never know what people are going to bring in the store each day and that makes work a lot of fun.”
Seaman began working in precious metals in 2010 and opened his own store with manager Ashley Schaffer in 2012.
“I am a precious metals dealer and I deal exclusively in gold, silver and coins,” Seaman said. “Nobody else in Jamestown does anything close to what I do.”
Seaman said his five year-old company has a five star Google rating that is based on market rate transactions and customer satisfaction.
“In this business reputation is everything,” Seaman said. “I don’t take it lightly and the customers can expect honest and transparent dealings with me and my business in Jamestown.”
People tend to become more interested in gold and silver investments when an uncertain political or economic environment gives doubt to paper assets, he said. Precious metals are a way to protect wealth when people believe the risks are too high for other types of investment, he said.
People want to know what precious metals are worth before selling them, Seaman said. There is a daily market rate for buying or selling gold and silver and that rate is provided to the customer, he said.
There are market rate metals value and a collector value rate, he said. A coin or jewelry piece may have a numismatic value that is higher than the market rate of the metal, he said.
Gold and silver items that the business will purchase from customers include coins, bars, ingots, jewelry, watches and even dental gold, he said. Bring an item in for a free estimate, he said.
There are also gold and silver items for sale, he said. The prices range from $10 on up, he said.
