State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has named Jacqueline Lommen as a senior defined contribution (DC) pensions strategist for northern Europe.
Lommen, who started in the newly-created role on 7 August, joins from Robeco Asset Management where she was senior vice president of European pensions.
She will be responsible for innovating the firm’s European DC business, but will particularly focus on the Netherlands and cross-border initiatives.
She is based in Amsterdam and reports to head of investment strategy for European DC Alistair Byrne.
Byrne said Lommen’s expertise would help deliver better retirement outcomes for savers across the region.
“The European DC pensions marketplace is evolving rapidly and is an important strategic priority for us,” he said. “Jacqueline’s expertise will help us develop our proposition for pension plans across the region, and deliver good retirement outcomes to their scheme members.
“We’re delighted to have her as part of the team.”
Lommen leaves her role at Robeco after six years, but continues to sit as a trustee or board member for a number of Dutch pension funds, including PostNL and Pensioenfunds Randstad.
Prior to her role at Robeco, she was a senior consultant for Aon Hewitt from 2008 to 2011, and a pension supervisor for De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) from 2005 to 2008.
In the latter role, she also acted as a representative on the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority’s (EIOPA) occupational pensions committee, which saw her closely involved in the development of the Solvency II, and Institutions on Occupational Retirement Provision (IORP) II regulations.
