Supply chain general manager for Zespri International Limited, Blair Hamill, is one of 14 senior executives and business owners to receive the Prime Minister’s business scholarships.
Announced this week by the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, the recipients have been given the opportunity to attend the world’s most prestigious business schools.
Blair is attending the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD (Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires, or European Institute for Business Administration). INSEAD is internationally renowned and features highly each year in business education rating lists. Blair is looking forward to gaining insight into broader and diverse views from global business leaders.
Blair joined Zespri in 2000 as Operations Accountant. In 2004 he was promoted to Commercial Manager in the New Zealand supply side of the business. In 2008 he was seconded to the 12-month non-New Zealand supply side of the business focusing on the Northern Hemisphere supply from Italy and France. In 2011 Blair was appointed General Manager Global Supply and was based offshore in Italy. Blair was appointed General Manager Supply Chain in December 2014.
Prior to joining Zespri, Blair worked in Chartered Accountancy and as a Management Accountant. He has a Business Studies Degree, majoring in Accounting from Massey University.
Zespri International Limited is the world’s largest marketer of kiwifruit, selling kiwifruit into more than 53 countries and managing 30 percent of the global volume.
