Fans attending the Texas Tech-Arizona State game on Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock will be in for an aviation spectacle prior to kickoff.
A pair of F-16 fighter jets will fly above the stadium before the Red Raiders and Sun Devils begin their Big 12-Pac-12 showdown in West Texas, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. The F-16s could be seen practicing the flyover route on Friday, according to a tweet from the paper’s photo department.

The Texas Tech-Arizona State game is not the only Week 3 game involving a Big 12 team that will feature a pregame flyover. A pair of F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets will soar over Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, for the TCU-SMU game on Saturday.
Texas Tech and Arizona State are playing the second game of a home-and-home series between the schools. The Sun Devils defeated the Red Raiders 68-55 one season ago in Tempe, Ariz.
The 2017 game should be high-flying again, and that goes for more than on the football field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The Red Raiders, coming off an early-season bye, will look to improve to 2-0 after defeating Eastern Washington 56-10 on Sept. 2.
