Longtime Nyssa area residents Irvin and Eleanor (Warren) Topliff will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Oct. 4.
Eleanor graduated from Roswell High School in 1939. She completed her business education at Link’s School of Business in Boise and worked in Boise as a secretary. Irvin graduated from Nyssa High School in 1941 and farmed with his parents on their farm near Nyssa.
Irvin and Eleanor met at church camp near McCall. They were married Oct. 4, 1947, at First Methodist Church in Boise. After living on a ranch at Ola, they moved to a farm near Adrian, Oregon.
They had three children — Teresa (and Randy) Jones of Hillsboro, Oregon, Marcia (and Ken) Nichols of Yakima, Washington, and Greg (and Karen) Topliff of McCall — three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They farmed for many decades at Topliff Farm on Mendiola Road near Adrian.
Over the years they served in various capacities at Adrian’s Kingman Memorial Presbyterian Church. Now, both in their mid-90s, Irvin and Eleanor live at Nyssa Gardens. Cards or letters may be sent to 1101 Park Avenue in Nyssa, OR 97913.
