Troy Finishes Fifth at USA Intercollegiate; Lohbauer Ties for

MOBILE, Alabama – Bianca Lohbauer fired a 2-under 70 to lead Troy in Monday’s final round of the USA Intercollegiate at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course. Lohbauer shot up the leaderboard into a tie for ninth place, while Troy finished fifth in the season-opening event.

Lohbauer, who shot 1-over for the tournament, rebounded from a bogey on her first hole to make the turn at 2-under after birdies on a pair of par-5 holes and one on the par-3 seventh. Another birdie on the par-5 13th pushed her card to three under before a bogey on No. 17 dropped her to 2-over.

Competing for the first time as a Trojan, junior Sarah Harrison tied for 12th place at 2-over for the event after shooting a 2-over 74 on Monday. She carded one birdie and two bogeys on both sides of the course to set her final score.

Lindsey Harrison ended her round with birdies on two of her final three holds to shoot 6-over on the day and 8-over for the tournament, good for a tie for 23rd place. Evan Fabricius-Bjerre tied for 31st overall at 10-over following a final round 77, while Brian Jansen tied for 50th after shooting 4-over on the day and 18-over for the tournament.

Antonia Poate finished strong with a round of 3-over as she carded a pair of birdies to tie for 37th place, while Abby Parks finished in a tie for 60th place – both players were competing as individuals.

Quotable – Troy Head Coach Randy Keck

“I saw a good competitive spirit this weekend, but we have a lot of work to do. Our fitness level is not where it needs to be, and our golf is not where it needs to be. The team chemistry is amazing, it is a group of young ladies who really care about each other. For the first tournament of the year and coming in without a head coach for the first few weeks of school, I am excited about what I saw this weekend.”
