However, neither have been written by J.K. Rowling
PUBLISHER Bloomsbury will release two new Harry Potter books later this year.
Harry Potter: A History of Magic and Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic are set to accompany the British Library’s Harry Potter: A History of Magic: The Exhibition to celebrate the magical franchise’s 20th anniversary.
However, neither release has been penned by J.K. Rowling, who ruled out writing any more Potter books following the release of the seventh and final novel in the series.
Fans have still gone wild for the news, with one writing on Twitter: “3 new Harry Potter books incoming! Bye bye life. Well.. after a long wait, I’ve got patience. 😂”
Another said: “2 new Harry Potter books woooah amazing 😱”
While a third posted: “the 2 new harry potter books coming out have me feeling all the feels i’m pure buzzing ⚡️”
Earlier this month Rowling revealed she’s got the manuscript of an unpublished novel stashed away.
But Harry Potter fans will be dismayed to hear the writer has no direct plans to publish the story, because it’s written on one of her dresses.
During a recent interview with CNN, the 51-year-old author revealed that the manuscript of almost an entire book was written on to the frock last year for her 50th birthday party.

She asked pals to come dressed as their “worst personal nightmare”; her own was a lost manuscript.
The author set about scribbling away on a gown, which then became a garment and an original J.K. Rowling story combined.
How much that dress is likely to be worth now doesn’t bear thinking about.
The writer said: “I wrote over a dress most of that book.
“So that book, I don’t know whether it will ever be published, but it’s actually hanging in a wardrobe currently.”
