The University of Illinois has launched a three year, $60 million recruitment effort to attract the best and brightest faculty.
The program was reviewed this past summer, but the launch was dependent on state lawmakers passing a budget.
With funding now available, U of I is hoping to attract new faculty members, that could help improve the national profile and student appeal.
The money will be used at all three campuses. Its primary use will be to support start up costs for ‘super star’ professors.
