Updates from the first day of Big Ten Media Days, a new look for Nebraska, and more

We hope you’ll start your day with us here at Landof10.com as we work to prepare you for everything you need to know — Monday through Friday — around the world of Nebraska sports. Whether it’s football, basketball, wrestling, baseball or just a wild story we hope you’ll find interesting, we’re here to share it all with you.

Today is Tuesday, July 25, and it’s time for Big Red Rising.

Big Ten Media Days, day one

Big Ten Media Days kicked off on Monday. While Nebraska’s Mike Riley, Tanner Lee, Chris Weber and Aaron Williams will not be available until later Tuesday, there was some news announced Monday that will affect Nebraska. That includes the Big Ten’s media deals with CBS, ESPN and Fox, as well as the return of FCS teams to Big Ten schedules.

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany was also not expecting quite the pushback he received for the Big Ten’s move to Friday night games. In the end, it seems it would have been better to leave that to the Ivy League.

We also asked a slew of Big Ten players which Huskers they would want on their own teams and they were very diplomatic. Big Ten coaches also had a lot of opinions on recruiting and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz doesn’t seem to think Nebraska stands out in the west.

A new look?

Will Nebraska receive a new uniform on Thursday? It appears so, from the teaser Adidas dropped on Twitter Monday morning.

It appears that these could be Nebraska’s next alternate uniforms. As for additional details and a full look, we’ll have to wait until Thursday for more.

2017 media guide

Nebraska’s 2017 media guide is now available to view online. The roster currently lists Elijah Blades as a member of the team, so take that with a grain of salt since the cornerback signee is off to junior college. The Huskers will likely provide a new roster soon.

A look back

Ndamukong Suh was a defensive force to be reckoned with in 2009 and The Ringer decided to relive it all. Should Suh have won the Heisman that year? The discussion continues.

And a look ahead

QB Tanner Lee wants to help end the title drought at Nebraska. That has to be music to Husker fans’ ears.

Broncos waive Josh Banderas

The Denver Broncos have waived former Nebraska linebacker Josh Banderas. He was an undrafted free agent.

Who stands out in Big Ten West? Not Nebraska, apparently
