Vermont FBLA Launches Virtual Chapter

St. Johnsbury, VT 07/19/2017
Long recognized as a top Career and Technical Student Organization in Vermont, the Future Business Leaders of America was only available to students in one of the 7 sponsoring high schools and technical centers. That all changes this coming school year, as the Vermont FBLA launches a Virtual Chapter.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA-PBL) is the largest and oldest business student organization in the world. A quarter of a million high school and middle school students, college and university students, faculty, educators, administrators, and business professionals have chosen to be members of the premier business education association preparing students for careers in business.

“For too long, all students across the state of Vermont have been unable to access this program” states Sarah Emery, Executive Director. Inspired by the success of the State of Massachusetts’ Virtual Chapters, Ms. Emery is launching the first Vermont Virtual Chapter this September. “It is important that any high school student in the state of Vermont has the opportunity to be part of the FBLA organization.” Any high school student in Vermont who does not have a local chapter in their school or who is part of a homeschool is invited to join.

Benefits to membership include: programming for leadership and social responsibility, enhanced opportunities for business and career education, the opportunity to travel to several state and national conferences and the chance to be awarded significant scholarship monies. “This past year the winners of at our Spring Leadership Conference were awarded a combined total of $76,000.00 in college scholarships- an amazing opportunity for Vermont students”. Vermont members can attend the Fall Leadership on September 26th in Montpelier and the Spring Leadership Conference on March 23rd in Fairlee, VT.

Membership fees for the Virtual chapter will be the same as for brick-and-mortar chapters – the nation’s lowest at $12.00 per person per year. Interested parties should contact Sarah Emery, Executive Director, Vermont FBLA via email at [email protected] or by phone at 802-745-9868. The first Virtual Meeting is set for August 14th, 2018 at noon.
