Victor, Ontario County, native and Nashville Predators prospect David Farrance went end to end as he scored the game winner for Team USA at the World Junior Summer Showcase in a 4-3 victory over Team Finland on Friday.

The goal, with 6:10 remaining in the third period, landed the former Blue Devil the No. 1 spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10.

Farrance, a defenseman, was selected in the third round with the 92nd overall pick by Nashville and will play for Boston University this season.

The former Class B sectional champion has played his last two seasons with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program in Michigan, where the 5-foot-11 defenseman has scored 15 goals and accounted for 60 points.

Victor sophomore David Farrance piled up 28 goals, 18 assists and 46 points in only 18 games and helped the Blue Devils win the Section V Class BB championship.
