The Mitchell Robinson recruitment continues to take twists and turns.
Last week it was reported by multiple outlets that Robinson, a five-star recruit out of Chalmette (La.) High, would sit out this coming season and prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft.
But Sunday morning Chad Bishop, of WBKO, reported that Robinson was planning to return to Western Kentucky. This comes after leaving WKU’s campus and asking for a release in late July.
On Friday, a source told Scout that Robinson was contemplating a return to WKU, but the source couldn’t 100-percent confirm he would end up back on Western Kentucky’s campus.
As of Sunday morning, Robinson had not arrived on campus, according to sources.
Although classes started at Western Kentucky this past week, if Robinson opts to return, he could potentially enroll this week.
After receiving his release, Robinson took college visits to Kansas, LSU and New Orleans. Although his interest was unknown, he also had professional options overseas.
Robinson is regarded as the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2017 recruiting class.
