Five days after a double-overtime loss to No. 25 Tennessee, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will host Jacksonville State in their 2017 home opener.
Here are a few quick notes about the game:
Where: Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
Last meeting: Georgia Tech won 37-17 in 2009
Quarterback TaQuon Marshall will start his second game for the Yellow Jackets after recording 249 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns against Tennessee on Monday. Marshall was named the ACC player of the week for his performance against the Volunteers and broke the ACC record for most rushing yards by a quarterback.
While the Yellow Jackets aren’t playing a Power 5 school this week, Jacksonville State is no cupcake game.
The Gamecocks of the Ohio Valley Conference are ranked No. 5 in FCS rankings and won their season opener against Chattanooga 27-13 on Saturday.
Georgia Tech is the only Power 5 school Jacksonville State will face this season.
