Retiring New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board General Superintendent Joe Becker’s annual pension will total $119,116, according to a WWL-TV report.

Becker announced his retirement ahead of a special S&WB meeting called to discuss issues related to recent flooding events in New Orleans on July 22 and Aug. 5. Mayor Mitch Landrieu said he would ask the board to fire Becker and S&WB Communications Director Lisa Martin during that meeting.

The report said Becker entered the retirement program Aug. 1. He can continue health-care coverage through the S&WB and is entitled to collect any unused sick or vacation days after his last day of work on Sept. 30.
