JUBA, 05 September 2017 [Gurtong]-During the three day conference which took place at Nyakuron Cultural Center last week under the theme, “Youth empowerment for sustainable development” the youth were taught valuable skills on leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation by distinguished entrepreneurs and organization leaders from within South Sudan and the United States of America.
Addressing the participants at the opening of the conference, Kerbino Wol, a top entrepreneur and the Executive Director of The Nile Foundation stated that the aim of the conference was to give the participants important skills and effective mechanisms necessary to enable them to become self-reliant in future, avoid dependency and create or improve their existing businesses or improve on their business ideas thus paving to nation building.
“Our aim in this conference is to give the participants effective mechanisms and new ideas that will empower them to become self-reliant and transform their communities, this conference will also give participants valuable skills in leadership, and entrepreneurship as well as the essence of youth productivity, strategic planning, and goal setting” Wol explained.
The Acting Undersecretary in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs, Hon. Malual Kur Ajak emphasized on investment among young people, while renewing his Ministry’s commitment to foster policies that are favorable to youth investment.
