Essex-based housing association Eastlight Community Homes welcomes Alex Bowden to its leadership team.
The resident-led social landlord, which owns and manages 14,500 homes across Essex and the East of England, has appointed Alex Bowden as its new Head of Treasury & Strategic Finance.
With over two decades of experience in the affordable housing sector, working for both Housing Associations and Lenders, Alex brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the newly created position.
His focus will be to lead and develop an already strong Treasury Team, increasing capacity in the areas of business planning, fundraising and investment appraisal.
This will serve to bolster the organisation’s already strong financial viability, whilst also maximising value for money and the quality of service it provides to its customers.
Management roles within Nationwide, bpha, and The Housing Finance Corporation have seen Alex establish a proven track record in debt portfolio management, fundraising, and the implementation of strategic initiatives, enabling him to observe best practice within the sector which he will bring to his new role.
With an AMCT Diploma in Treasury Management, a Diploma in Corporate Banking, and a Degree in Accountancy, Alex has the technical skills, as well as the learned experience to take Eastlight forward.
On being appointed to the role Alex said: “I am thrilled to be joining a resident-led organisation providing homes to those in need and look forward to building on what I can see are already strong foundations.”
