DWP confirms State Pension payment change on Monday | Personal Finance | Finance

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed a change to some State Pension payments due on Monday. People expecting State Pension or benefit payments on Monday, May 4, will instead receive the money early because of the bank holiday.

Payments due on that date will land in bank accounts on Friday, May 1. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have also confirmed the same arrangement for some payments scheduled for Monday, May 4. The change means claimants should check their accounts ahead of the weekend, as the money will be paid before the usual date.

Payments due to be made on Monday, May 4 will be issued on Friday, May 1 and those scheduled for Monday, May 25 will arrive on Friday, May 22.
