Today’s average rate on a 30-year mortgage (fixed-rate) inched up to 7.41% from 7.37% yesterday. This time last week, the 30-year fixed was 7.50%.

The APR on a 30-year fixed is 7.43%. This time last week, it was 7.33%. APR is the all-in cost of your loan.

At an interest rate of 7.41%, a 30-year fixed mortgage would cost $693 per month in principal and interest (taxes and fees not included) per $100,000, according to the Forbes Advisor mortgage calculator. The total interest paid over the life of the loan will be about $149,527.

15-Year Mortgage Rates

Today, the 15-year mortgage rate sits at 6.60%, lower than it was yesterday. Last week, it was 6.73%.

The APR on a 15-year fixed is 6.63%. It was 6.53% this time last week.

A 15-year fixed-rate mortgage of $100,000 with today’s interest rate of 6.60% will cost $876 per month in principal and interest. Over the life of the loan, you would pay $57,761 in total interest.

Jumbo Mortgage Rates

The current average interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate jumbo mortgage is 7.35%. Last week, the average rate was 7.47%.

If you lock in today’s rate of 7.35% on a 30-year, fixed-rate jumbo mortgage, you will pay $689 per month in principal and interest per $100,000 in financing.
