Marriott International has opened its 600th hotel in the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, with the launch of the Adelaide Marriott Hotel in South Australia. This marks the company’s first property in the state and highlights its commitment to expanding in emerging destinations.
The hotel features a 14-storey tower with 285 rooms, including 12 suites, and is situated next to the historic Adelaide General Post Office. The opening responds to a growing trend of domestic and regional travel as visitors seek unique experiences closer to home.
Rajeev Menon, President for Asia Pacific excluding China, noted, “We are thrilled to celebrate our 600th property milestone in the region with the Adelaide Marriott Hotel, a brand that bears the name of our founding family. With 600 operational properties across the APEC region and close to 400 in the pipeline, our growth trajectory is robust. Our strategy to be everywhere our guests want us to be is further reinforced by our recent announcement of plans to enter the midscale hospitality segment, providing more opportunities to extend our portfolio presence in new markets and beyond the major gateway cities.”
