Microsoft announces $2.2bn cloud and AI investment in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR — Microsoft will invest $2.2 billion in cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Malaysia, making it the single largest investment in its 32-year history in the country, the company’s chief executive announced on Thursday.
CEO Satya Nadella was speaking at an event in the Southeast Asian nation after stops in Indonesia and Thailand earlier in the week. In Jakarta, the company revealed a $1.7 billion investment plan for Indonesia, and in Bangkok, it announced it would open a data center in Thailand.
